Ethical
Government
As you read this, the FBI has been in our capital investigating
the current leadership and the influence of lobbyists.
The influence of lobbyists is running wild in our state capital
as well as in Washington D.C. The current leadership voted to remove
maximum contribution limits so that big money lobbyists can buy
their way into our government. I do not believe this is right.
We need real ethics reform that will give the average voter an
equal voice in Jefferson City so that lobbyists do not control our
state’s policies.
Also this past Wednesday, June 14th, Gov. Blunt signed into law
the voter restriction bill, which is expected to deny the right
to vote for over 175,000 Missourians. The current leadership used
a tactic rare in Missouri history to silence debate in order to
pass the legislation at 2 a.m. on the last night of session.
These kinds of political ploys are very bad for Missouri. However,
the only way to eliminate this type of irresponsible behavior in
our government is to vote for change.
As your State Representative I promise to:
- Always place the voice of my constituents and the hard working
Missourians first.
- Be honest and accessible to my constituents.
- Always defend the right to vote for every Missourian.
- Never be influenced by big money lobbyists.
My opponent and the leadership in Jefferson City have proven where
their priorities are. It’s time to get real leadership in
Jefferson City and bring the focus back to you, the hard working
voters of Missouri.
