Welcome
Friends,
Thank you so much for your support this past election! Our campaign was a huge success, and while we fell short by only 600 votes out of close to 15,000, we exceeded all of our goals!
We could not have been this successful in exceeding every one of our goals, had it not been for the support you gave us physically, spiritually and financially.
I am proud to say that we ran our campaign on the most important issues facing this state, education, health care, safer communities and roads. My Republican opponent ran a campaign on negative attacks, which went as far as to portray me as an illegal immigrant for being part Latino, to call the bi-partisan Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus "radical" and to mislead voters by telling them he was not a Republican but an "independent" (note: as every Republican candidate did across Missouri in tough races).
I am proud to say that we remained positive and because of it, voters have continued sending their thanks, via e-mail and when I have come across them in public.
Neighbors, we are in a very important time. Yes, Democrats made their largest gain in the Missouri House in over 20 years, won the majority in the U.S. Congress and gained enough seats to take back the U.S. Senate with candidates like Claire McCaskill. However, this radical Republican leadership continues to maintain control in the Missouri House and Senate. They will continue to fight to create radical legislation, not moderation, that has hurt working families, attacked public education and denied health care to our most vulnerable Missouri families and communities. Therefore, we must continue to fight for what is right.
I am asking you to attend events in your community and to hold your elected officials accountable, get active in local clubs/organizations and volunteer to take ownership in your neighborhoods to keep our community aware of such radical legislation and the need for change.
Fellow Democrats, Independents and concerned Republicans, our communities and families need our help more than ever before. Together, let us continue the great progress we made this year, for what is right for the sake of your family, my family and our community.
Please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail or over the phone with any questions or concerns. I will be proud to continue to speak up for you and to hold this leadership accountable for the sake of the families in our great community.
Sincerely,
Chris Moreno
